Christmas & New Year Trading Days 2018

Christmas & New Year Trading Days 2018

Dear Customers,

Time flies and it’s nearly Christmas already!  First of all on behalf of the Parcelport team, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year!

Please note during the Christmas period we will be open all working days but in the short weeks our couriers are working shorter hours depending on the businesses in their area.  We are closed public holidays. Parcels traveling on inter-island two day service will be delivered on the 2nd or 3rd working day (not counting the day of the pickup) and rural deliveries will add one to two extra working days.

Cut off dates for deliveries before Christmas would be:

For Same Day service: pickup on or before 24th Dec is advised
For Next Day service: pickup on or before 21st Dec is advised
For Two Day service: pickup on or before 20th Dec is advised
For Rural service: pickup on or before 17th Dec is advised
For International service: varies depending on destination and service

I would like to advise our Christmas and New Year trading days are as follow:

  • Monday 24th Dec – OPEN – normal pickups and deliveries, domestic parcels picked up on this day may not be delivered until the 27th to 28th Dec, domestic parcels travelling on Rural service may not be delivered until the 31st Dec or 3rd Jan, international parcels deliveries will also be delayed due to the holiday season

To avoid having parcel delivery to you while you are away on holiday please do email us and let us know what date your business is closed over the Christmas New Year period.

We are currently experiencing a very high volume of calls due to the Christmas high season period and I do apologize for any delay in answering your calls. You may also like to lodge a query at https://freight.payport.co.nz/complaint or email us, in most cases we can respond to email more quickly.

If your inquiries are related to the deliveries of your parcels you may want to contact the courier companies directly and mention Parcelport and quote the consignment number. They may be able to give you a more direct response.  I understand the couriers are also experiencing a very high volume of calls at the moment and so if you can’t get through to the couriers by all mean do go to https://freight.payport.co.nz/Complaint to lodge a query or send us an email and we will be more than happy to chase it up for you.

If your inquiries are related to pickups, do contact us as we are the freight booking engine responsible for booking and picking up of your freight while the couriers are responsible for the delivery of your parcel.

We also have a Track and Trace section on the top of our website www.parcelport.co.nz where your customers can enter consignment numbers and track their consignments, they do not need to login to check the status of their parcels.

During the Christmas high season it is normal to expect a small degree of delays with pickups and deliveries, we do recommend to try to place your order early in the day to ensure same day pickup, and allow for an extra day for the deliveries.

We are pleased to announced we have just launched the PACE Courier service.   For same day or guarantee next day service in Auckland we would recommend NOW Couriers. For same day urgent couriers in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington, we would recommend using PACE.  PACE offers 50 minutes, 2 hours and 3 hours point to point service in these main centres.  It would be ideal for these last minute Christmas deliveries at very reasonable prices.

Again, we do thank you for your patience and we do apologize for any inconvenience or delays. We wish you all success in your business this Christmas and wish you and your family a well-deserved break.   Relax and be safe.

Best Regards
