How do Parcel Redeliveries Work?

How do Parcel Redeliveries Work?

For many people, missing a parcel delivery can be one of the most stressful things to deal with, especially when the instructions on how to retrieve your package are unclear, or involve you travelling to some far-away destination at an inconvenient time. With Parcelport, our team ensure minimal stress if you end up missing your delivery – in this blog, we’ll take you through how parcel redeliveries work with Parcelport, to show you just how easy it is to make sure you get your package.

Parcelport’s standard policy

To eliminate the risk associated with packages being left unattended by courier staff, Parcelport’s default policy for all deliveries is that a signature will always be required, and no items will be left alone – even at the correct address. If one of our staff attempts to make the delivery and no one is home to sign for the parcel, they will leave a ‘calling card’ at the address to let you know when they tried to make the delivery, and provide information on the possible redelivery or pickup options.

After receiving the calling card, you’ll be able to go online and enter your tracking code for more information, and choose whether you want to arrange a redelivery to the same or another address, or whether you’d prefer to pick up your parcel from a local branch.

Authority to Leave and lost parcels

Any Parcelport customers who prefer that their parcels are left unattended by our courier can provide us with an Authority to Leave, which will allow the courier to deliver the package at the property, even if nobody is there to sign off on the delivery. Normally, if a package is lost or damaged in any way, Parcelport will be able to help with a Loss or Damage Claim to make sure you’re fairly compensated. However, if you’ve signed an Authority to Leave, Parcelport and our agents won’t be liable for any loss or damage that occurs after delivery has taken place.

Track and Trace

You can use parcel tracking on the Parcelport website to follow your parcel through the delivery and redelivery process and, if you’re using our services through your business, your customers receiving packages will also be able to follow the same process. Essentially, you’ll never have to wonder where any parcel is, allowing for greater transparency and efficiency throughout the entirety of the delivery or redelivery process.

It doesn’t matter where you are in NZ – parcel delivery has never been easier than it is with Parcelport! If you’re looking to send a parcel around the country or even to anywhere else in the world, our network of couriers will allow you to do so by simply booking a pickup and attaching your printed shipping label – that’s it! Parcelport is the best solution for parcel post NZ wide – sign up today!
