COVID-19 – Alert Level 4 Update – Essential Business Only

A reminder to all our customers, courier and freight services will only be operational for essential businesses.

Your Parcelport team and platform will remain fully operational to facilitate the transporting of Essential products whilst Alert Level 4 is in place. However, you should know that the decision of whether a product is considered ‘Essential’ does not lie with Parcelport or the Courier company, but with you, as the Shipper.

All our Courier partners will pick-up items from businesses that have deemed themselves as Essential businesses and follow the operating guidelines specified by the Government.  The NZ Government have provided an updated definition of what is deemed Essential and non-Essential during this time.  The full list can be read at  https://covid19.govt.nz/government-actions/covid-19-alert-level/

This website has everything you need to know about COVID-19, in one place.

For many of our customers, the key section will be around FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) and what goods they deem Essential.  Each business needs to assess for itself whether it fits the outlined Essential businesses criteria, and if the service/products being provided meet the intended spirit of these.

Note that products deemed non-Essential should not be shipped until Alert Level 4 has been lifted.

You are always able to contact the Ministry of Business & Innovation or the Government help-line on 0800 779 997 for any advice for clarification.

We appreciate this is a challenging time and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Wishing you and your loved ones all the very best over this period.

Your Parcelport Team
