How Parcel Tracking Works

How Parcel Tracking Works

You may have had experiences of sending packages by courier for your business around the world. After all, having a courier service pick up your parcel and safely deliver it on time is such a relief, especially when you have delivery deadlines to meet. A courier service that operates with effective and timely efficiency always gets more customers.

Parcelport NZ courier services is an Auckland based online (cloud) freight portal. We offer unmatched shipping and delivery services and cater to a whole range of businesses. Parcelport has nationwide services covering 360 cities and towns, has access to a network of 1000 courier services, and delivers to over 200 countries in the world.

How Parcels are Tracked on Parcelport

Since we are an online portal, all courier bookings need to be done on our online ordering system. Once a business registers on and is given their unique client details, they are able to book a courier pickup in approximately 15 seconds. The best part is that it is a pay as you go system with linear rates, so you only pay for what your package weighs and even the smallest package can safely be picked up and delivered with no hidden costs.

Once the client books a courier pickup, he has to print out the bar code and paste it on the parcel. We confirm your order and send a courier service to pick up your parcel in the next 2-3 hours, if orders were placed before noon the same day. You can, however, arrange late pickups or divide your pickup times between packages. Thereafter, you can start tracking your parcel through the online Parcelport freight system. You can do this by clicking on the ‘Manage Consignment’ section. Your business’ customers can also choose to track their parcels in the track section by entering their consignment number. Both you and your customers can keep tracking the location of the parcel as it reaches different stages in the delivery process. Since the courier services, drivers, locations and time zones vary across the world, the tracking system is a really helpful way to guarantee peace of mind while shipping large or small parcels that need to be delivered to the right people. You can also choose to view and export your shipping reports online.

What Happens if My Parcel is Lost or Damaged on the Way?

While there are very limited chances of that happening, rest assured that we will do our best to manage a lost or damaged item. You can make a claim using your unique ticket reference number, and we will endeavour to assist you in making the claim as much as possible. Please ensure that you call our customer service centre and supply them with details of the consignment including the contents, packaging and the value of the item. Once verified, the damaged goods will be collected in their original packaging from the customer and will be assessed for repair or salvageability and returned to the customer for assessment.

A potential damage claim needs to be submitted within 7 days. In case of goods being lost on the way, a claim must be submitted within 14 days of the despatch. A POD (Proof of delivery) enquiry will be undertaken, followed by a national depot search to locate if the item was kept there by mistake. If the item is still not found, your query will be forwarded to the claims department which will launch an investigation into the loss claim and we will do our best to assist you.

Make use of the best online freight portal which offers courier services in NZ and the rest of the world and make courier pickup and delivery for your business a hassle-free process.
